Michael Barber was born in Colorado Springs, CO. He has four children with his wife, Megan. He served with valor for four years in the United States Navy and is honorably discharged as a veteran of our armed forces. Michael was saved during a very low point in his life. After being presented with the gospel, on the armory floor of a Ballistic Missile Defense Destroyer, the USS Benfold, Michael trusted Jesus as his personal Lord and Saviour.
Michael was married when he got saved and his wife began noticing a difference in him; particularly, a hunger for the things of God. After testing different churches, Michael began to pray that the Lord would lead him to the right church. After moving from California to Florida, Michael’s neighbor invited him and his family to Victory Baptist Church and immediately, after a few minutes of preaching from Pastor Raymond Hall, he knew it was where God wanted his family. Megan later trusted Jesus as her Saviour, and together, they were baptized on the same day. Just one short year later, Michael surrendered to the call of God to full time ministry work. Now, Michael is graduated with a master’s degree from The Crown College of the Bible, Knoxville, Tennessee and a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Eastern Florida State College.
Michael’s favorite quote is from the famed prince of preachers, Charles Spurgeon; “The Word of God is the anvil upon which the opinions of men are smashed.” Above all, Michael’s favorite thing to do is to read his Bible, but his hobbies include: fishing/hunting, hiking, carpentry, treasure hunting (metal detecting/rock or arrowhead hunting).
Michael’s life verse is I Corinthians 15:58; “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
